Dear customer,

This message is to inform you of some upcoming scheduled downtime on servers hosted in our Amsterdam datacentre. If you have a web site hosted on our Yoda or Dumbledore servers, then this applies to you. US-hosted customers should be unaffected by this downtime (except for a limited number of resellers, please see below for details).

Due to a number of problems with our existing datacentre, we are being forced to move our servers to a new datacentre in Amsterdam. The new datacentre will improve on reliability, and should provide a more stable, redunant connection to the Internet. It is also a more modern, environmentally friendly facility, while not compromising on quality of service. Unfortunately, this does mean that there will be a period of downtime while servers are moved and set up in the new facility. This downtime is scheduled to occur on Wednesday the 16th of July, at around 19:00 UTC (GMT), and is expected to last until around 22:00 UTC, although it's possible that sites may be inaccessible for a little longer than this. Due to the fact that some IP addresses will be changing, there may be additional downtime caused due to DNS updates propogating over the Internet, although this will not affect all customers or visitors to sites. We can only apologise for this downtime, and hope that it will not prove too much of an inconvenience.

Note also that a limited number of reseller customers may have to make changes to their own-branded nameservers to reflect IP address changes. E-mails shall be sent to the affected customers separately. If you are in doubt as to whether you need to make any alterations, please submit a support ticket or reply to this e-mail.

Again, my apologies for the forthcoming interruption to service and any inconvenience this may cause to you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about this move.

Regards,
