To enhance security, we installed a piece of software called suPHP on the Yoda server today. suPHP enables PHP scripts to be executed as the appropriate user who owns a script, as opposed to as the web server (the "nobody" user). What does this mean for you? For the most part, it should have little effect on you. Indeed, it may solve various problems users have been having with file permissions when uploading files in scripts like Joomla. However, you may experience "Internal Server Error" messages on some of your scripts. This is usually because the file permissions are wrong, or because you are using php_flag/value entries in a .htaccess file. Read this knowledge base article for help if you have problems. Apart from that, you should not encounter any major problems.

Currently, Yoda is the only server to have been transferred to the new system. Assuming no major problems occur, we intend to transfer the rest of our servers over the next week or so. Please submit a support ticket if you have any queries about or problems with the move.
