We would like to inform our shared hosting customers that it is now possible to access cPanel and WHM via an encrypted connection (SSL), without encountering certificate errors. We would highly encourage all our customers to only make use of secure connections to cPanel and WHM.
Accessing cPanel and WHM over SSL is very straightforward. Simply enter the appropriate address into your browser's address bar - for cPanel:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
or for WHM:
http://www.yourdomain.com/whm
You will be sent to our secure login page. You may see the address bar change to "yoda.zernebok.com" or "aslan.zernebok.com" - this is normal, and is simply the name of the server you're connecting to.
We would particularly encourage resellers to make use of our secure WHM facility. Normal, unencrypted connections can in theory be snooped upon, and passwords could be revealed, which may result in account abuse or data loss if the passwords are misused.
Customers can also now access our mail servers via SSL without encountering errors. This means that all e-mail traffic (including your password) will be encrypted between your computer and our servers. The details you need can be found on the "Configure E-mail Client" page in the E-mail Accounts section of cPanel. Typically, you will need to use the server name (e.g., "yoda.zernebok.com") for SSL to avoid name mismatch errors - these details are reflected in cPanel for your particular account.
If you have any queries regarding the new setup, please let us know.
